From 18 to 20 February 2026, APLE Fest Banja Luka 2026 was held, an international architecture festival and final exhibition of the Erasmus+ APLE project (Architectural Pop-Up Laboratories for Knowledge Exchange).
The festival brought together students, teachers, architects and the general public, with the aim of reflecting on contemporary themes of architecture, education, and social responsibility in space.
The new building of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Banja Luka has been transformed into an open house of architecture, where the results of the Pop‑Up Laboratories developed within the project were presented through exhibitions, workshops, presentations and thematic discussions.
The programme emphasised learning through practice, collaboration, and experimentation, bringing architecture closer to real social and spatial challenges.
Students had the opportunity to speak with FEAL representatives at an information stand, learn about innovative façade systems, and see their application in contemporary architecture.
On the second day of the festival, the director of FEAL RS, Boris Čubrilović, and the project architect led a guided tour through the completed Terme Banja Luka project. During the tour, they presented the architectural solutions, implemented details, and technical aspects of the project, and discussed the importance of collaboration between designers and facade system manufacturers in practice.
Exchanging experiences with students and pupils further demonstrated how important it is to connect academia and industry, bringing education closer to real professional challenges.
